On Saturday, three hundred participants hit the pavement in Calgary to support the Alberta Cancer Foundation, participating in a 10 km Fun Run through Inglewood. This event, organized by the Patrol Foundation, marked their inaugural hosting of such a run, although their commitment to charitable efforts is not new. Last November, a dedicated group of eight Calgarians completed an impressive distance of more than 3,000 km for cancer research, generating over $30,000 by raising $10 for every kilometer.
This year’s event may have featured a shorter distance, but the fundraising target is significantly larger. Nyle MacLeod, one of the organizers, stated their ambition to raise $100,000 throughout the month of November. So far, they have successfully garnered just over $37,000.
