Alaska Airlines has collaborated with the Disneyland Resort to introduce a new Disney-branded aircraft. This latest addition, a Boeing 737-800, showcases a vibrant livery inspired by Disney’s animated film “The Princess and the Frog.” This new plane represents the third Disney-themed jet in an ongoing partnership between the two organizations.

On April 25, Portland International Airport (PDX) was aglow with excitement as Alaska Airlines launched its most recent Disney-themed livery.

The exterior design of the Boeing 737-800 draws from Walt Disney Animation Studios’ “The Princess and the Frog” and the new attraction at Disneyland Park, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. The intent behind the aircraft’s design was to embody “Princess Tiana’s story in the skies” and celebrate “the essence of adventure and dreaming big.”

This new aircraft marks the airline’s ninth collaboration with the Disneyland Resort and notably features a Disney Princess for the first time. Prior themed planes have included Mickey’s Toontown Express and a Star Wars-themed jet launched in commemoration of the opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.

The design of the Princess Tiana livery took 18 months to create and required over 2,000 hours of meticulous work from a talented team of artists. Its colorful and intricate design vividly captures the spirit of the bayou and honors Tiana’s inspirational journey.

Passengers on the flight will be greeted by beloved characters from the movie and attraction. Alongside Princess Tiana, the aircraft features Louis the Alligator, Prince Naveen, and Mama Odie, who is creatively depicted on the winglet. Additionally, various critters from Tiana’s Bayou Adventure enhance the whimsical theme, accompanied by charming motifs of friendly fireflies and water lilies.

In true Disneyland fashion, the aircraft has been dubbed Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Flyer.

“Every journey should be as magical as the destination, and Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Flyer embodies that wonder in a way that aligns seamlessly with our commitment to providing amazing experiences,” stated Eric Edge, vice president of brand and marketing at Alaska Airlines, in a release. “This aircraft encapsulates Princess Tiana’s passion for exploration and adventure, inspiring our guests to embrace new experiences and create lasting memories.”

With tail number N596AS, the aircraft is set to operate within Alaska Airlines’ network for the coming years, including routes to Santa Ana, California—just a short distance from the Disneyland Resort. Onboard, travelers can indulge in an exclusive Tiana’s Bayou Adventure snack pack.

Launched in alignment with the Disneyland Resort’s 70th Celebration, starting May 16, 2025, and extending through summer 2026, the festivities will include limited-time entertainment, themed decorations, specialty food and beverages, and activities that commemorate “seven decades of joy.” Guests will also be able to experience Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, an exciting water-based ride that continues the inspiring story of Tiana.
