Celebrating Fashion and Culinary Delight at Who What Wear UK’s Excellent Taste Supper Club

The recent gathering of Who What Wear UK’s monthly supper club, Excellent Taste, was a delightful affair, held in the elegant ambiance of The Pem, a hidden gem in Westminster. The event brought together influential figures from London’s style scene for an evening of fine dining, featuring Wye Valley asparagus tartlets, seared monkfish, and a stunning chocolate and hazelnut dessert. With renowned chef Sally Abe leading the kitchen, guests enjoyed a seasonal menu that harmonized beautifully with the spring decor, including tulips sourced from Rebel Rebel. Conversations flowed freely, covering a wide array of topics from beloved niche perfumes to tales of travel and discussions about the challenges posed by rogue landlords.

Among the notable attendees were well-known personalities like Nicola Roberts, alongside emerging talents such as ballerina Patrizia Zhou, model and filmmaker Amalie Gassman, and model Izzy Richmond. Influential figures from the fashion industry, including stylists Coline Anglard and Donna Wallace, as well as author Andrea Cheong and Liberty’s Group Buying & Merchandising Director, Lydia King, added to the evening’s allure. Not to mention the style icons Danielle Oreoluwa and Valerie Soba, who never fail to inspire with their impeccable fashion choices.

Fashion Highlights from the Evening

One of the most enjoyable aspects of the event was the diverse range of fashion on display. As is often the case at London gatherings, the attendees sported an exciting mix of casual, chic, and formally stylish ensembles. Highlights included striking red dresses, with Paris HK’s choice turning heads, and elegantly tailored outfits such as Emma Breschi’s tuxedo dress, which captivated the crowd. Personally, I selected a sophisticated tailored skirt suit from French Connection that balanced smart and stylish. Complemented by vintage accessories—an old Mulberry pouch, a Mawi necklace, and Zara sandals—I finished the look with a vibrant red lip from Charlotte Tilbury’s collection. This versatile outfit can easily transition between social events and professional engagements.
