Last Friday is on its way to becoming a reality, and excitement is building.
Since June 2024, updates have been circulating about the much-anticipated film. Ice Cube revealed to Flavor Flav that progress was being made. “We’re working on it. We finally got some traction with Warner Bros.,” he mentioned. “They have new leadership. My man Mike DeLuca—who was with New Line during my early days with Friday, Players Club, and All About the Benjamins—is now at Warner Bros. He and Michael Gruber were like, ‘What’s going on with Friday? Let’s get this back on track.’”
In a discussion with Million Dollaz Worth of Game, Cube shared an idea for an abandoned script. In this version, Craig (played by Cube) and Day-Day (Mike Epps) find themselves in jail after a chaotic incident involving a flash mob at their dispensary. Inside, they encounter Deebo and the Joker brothers, characters from earlier films. The story evolves as they navigate their way to a rehabilitation center run by Chris Tucker’s Smokey.

In March, Mike Epps appeared on The Breakfast Club and confirmed that the fourth film was indeed in the works, sharing that Ice Cube had informed him, “we just finished the deal.”
Recently, Richard Brener, the head of New Line Cinema, offered further confirmation in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter. When asked directly about a new Friday movie, he stated, “We are making another Friday. We just closed a deal with Ice Cube to write and star. It’s going to be called Last Friday.”
