Nacon’s Revolution X Unlimited Controller Set to Launch Next MonthCompatible with Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Android DevicesFeaturing Hall Effect Sticks, Customizable Components, and an LCD Display
Nacon has announced that its newest Xbox controller, the Revolution X Unlimited, is now available for pre-order.
This latest offering appears to be an advancement from the original Revolution X and the PlayStation 5’s Revolution 5 Pro. The Revolution X Unlimited comes equipped with Hall effect sticks designed to resist drift, interchangeable components including stick caps, D-pads, and grip weights, as well as a built-in LCD screen for on-the-fly customization.
You can place your pre-order for the controller at Nacon’s official store for $199.90 / £179.90, which is, notably, less expensive than the Revolution 5 Pro’s pricing of $199.99 / £199.99. The official release date is scheduled for April 30, 2025. Customers in the UK can also choose to pre-order through Argos.
I had the opportunity to experience the Revolution X Unlimited briefly during a recent event hosted by Nacon in Paris. Despite the limited time, I was quite taken by the controller’s functionality.
A standout feature for me was the integrated LCD screen. Typically, I find screens on controllers to be overly complex and sometimes a drain on battery life; however, the Revolution X Unlimited’s display was intuitive with a straightforward menu. Users can access various settings, including button mapping and stick sensitivity, with ease.
Targeted at competitive gamers, the Revolution X Unlimited includes specific profiles for PC users and a ‘Shooter Pro’ mode. The PC profile can minimize input latency to about one millisecond when connected via a wired connection, and it allows keyboard shortcuts for remappable buttons located on both the top and rear of the controller. The Shooter Pro profile, on the other hand, entirely eliminates stick dead zones, theoretically improving precision in first-person shooter games.
That said, I do have some reservations regarding battery life. Nacon projects a minimum of 10 hours per charge, which is on par with the Revolution 5 Pro. This duration may seem short compared to other high-performing Xbox controllers on the market. Fortunately, the Revolution X Unlimited will be packaged with a dedicated charging dock, offering a convenient means to recharge when not in use.
While we still have some time before the official release of the Revolution X Unlimited, expect a comprehensive review to be published on TechRadar Gaming soon.
