Independent game development studio Baba Black Sheep Games, based in India, has unveiled an exciting new rhythm-based cricket game titled *Bat to the Beat*. Set to be released on PC later this year, the game is already accessible on Steam, where players can try out a demo version.
Introducing *Bat to the Beat*
On Wednesday, the developer released a captivating trailer for *Bat to the Beat*, showcasing its unique gameplay which merges the dynamics of cricket with rhythm mechanics. Players will journey through various cricket locations, responding to diverse local music beats that encompass styles from the “one-drop reggae sounds of Jamaica to energetic Bollywood rhythms,” according to the game developer’s press release.
Inspired by well-known rhythm games such as *Crypt of the NecroDancer*, *Rhythm Heaven Fever*, and *Super Hexagon*, *Bat to the Beat* is being crafted by solo game developer Kunal Joshi under the Baba Black Sheep Games label.
Currently, potential players can add *Bat to the Beat* to their Steam wishlist, with an active demo available to provide a glimpse into the gaming experience. The demo offers an early taste of the vibrant gameplay, while the full version promises to include additional levels and a broader selection of music.
Players will need to possess both rhythm and spatial awareness, making quick decisions to either attempt potent shots or play defensively in tune with the soundtrack. The game has been developed using the Unity engine and supports game controllers, featuring an original music score.
Baba Black Sheep Games has also shared the system requirements necessary for running *Bat to the Beat* on both Windows and macOS platforms. While a specific release date has not yet been announced, the game is confirmed to debut on Steam sometime in the current year.
