How does a supermodel enhance her living space? With Chanel, naturally.
In the stylish Miami home of Chanel Iman Godchaux, surfboards and throw pillows from the iconic fashion house create a fashionable vibe. This is particularly fitting considering the brand’s founder, Coco Chanel, shares her name. The design aesthetic of this modern residence reflects both Chanel’s personal style and that of her husband, NFL player Davon Godchaux. According to their designer Rafaela Simoes from 2id Interiors, the NFL player played a significant role in shaping the home’s fashion-forward decor.

The defensive tackle’s impressive collection of footwear, which includes a display reminiscent of Carrie Bradshaw’s wardrobe, reinforces this sentiment. Chanel, who has her own vast collection, humorously noted that she had to “almost fight” Davon for closet space. Despite their shared love for fashion, the couple prioritized functionality for their blended family, aiming for a sleek, modern home with ample room for their children as they united under one roof for the first time. The Godchauxs acquired their South Florida property in 2021. “Davon and I met in Florida, and having a home together in the place we found love is incredibly special to us,” Chanel expresses, adding that their house is part of their love story.

The landing of the staircase is adorned with Chanel surfboards to infuse the space with a casual yet luxurious flair.
The lengthy wait for the house to be constructed—an effort involving PPK Architects and Centurion Land Group—proved challenging but ultimately fueled a dynamic design collaboration. Simoes mentions her firm specializes in accommodating Miami’s diverse clientele, but she particularly enjoys projects with individuals from fashion and sports, highlighting how the Godchauxs exemplify both these realms. “They encourage us to take bold and unexpected design risks,” Simoes remarks, expressing her appreciation for their adventurous spirit.
