Intel Unison is set to be discontinued on June 30, 2025, which means that all of its features will no longer be accessible after this date. Updates regarding this closure have been reflected in the application’s listings on the Microsoft Store, Google Play Store, and Apple App Store. Intel Unison was known for its unique features, including the ability to use an Android tablet as an external display.
Intel Unison, a complimentary application for Windows, which facilitated the connection between Android smartphones and tablets with PCs, will be shut down in the coming months. This information was communicated to users recently via the Windows version of the app, and the Microsoft Store has also been updated accordingly. The app’s discontinuation is scheduled for June 30, 2025 (source: Neowin).
The Microsoft Store listing for Intel Unison notes, “Intel Unison will soon be discontinued.” The initial phase of this winding down involves ceasing service across most platforms by the end of June 2025, although Lenovo Aura platforms are expected to retain service throughout the remainder of that year.
Intel Unison was celebrated for its range of features designed to create a seamless connection between Android devices and Windows computers. Among these capabilities was the option to connect Android tablets as wireless external displays. The app allowed users to make phone calls and send text messages from their Windows PCs while using their Android phones. Additionally, it provided a drag-and-drop functionality for transferring files and images between devices.
Although similar features are available through the Microsoft Phone Link app, many users found Intel Unison to offer a superior experience with extra functionalities. Unfortunately, with its impending closure, all of these unique features will no longer be available after June 2025.

A blog post on HP’s Tech Takes page also discussed the app’s impending discontinuation.
“HP remains committed to providing innovative solutions that help users stay productive across multiple devices and platforms,” the post stated. “While specific connectivity solutions may change over time, the fundamental need for efficient device management remains constant.”
The software’s requirements specify that it is compatible with Windows 11 machines running at least version 22H2. While the minimum requirement states that a 12th-generation Intel Core i5 processor is necessary, it is important to note that the application could function on non-Intel systems as well. Certain Intel Evo devices from the 13th generation and onward come pre-installed with Intel Unison.
The listings for Intel Unison on both the Google Play Store and Apple App Store have also been revised to indicate the forthcoming discontinuation.
Consequently, users looking to link their Android phones with Windows PCs will now have to rely on Microsoft Phone Link as their primary option.
