Parth Samthaan steps into the iconic world of CID as ACP Ayushmann, replacing Shivaji Satam’s legendary ACP Pradyuman.
Parth Samthaan is set to take on the role of ACP Ayushmann in CID 2, succeeding the legendary Shivaji Satam, who portrayed the beloved ACP Pradyuman for many years. This significant shift in the series marks a new era for the long-running show.
The introduction of ACP Ayushmann follows the dramatic demise of ACP Pradyuman at the hands of Barbosa, played by Tigmanshu Dhulia, leader of the ruthless Eye Gang. As the series evolves, it aims to maintain its compelling narrative with a fresh lead at the helm.
Parth Samthaan is well aware of the weight of this responsibility. “Filling such large shoes is no easy task. I’m not trying to replicate ACP Pradyuman; this is an entirely different character with a new storyline,” he explained in an interview with Saas Bahu Aur Betiyaan. “We are aiming to keep the CID legacy alive, infusing it with new thrill and suspense.”
Describing CID as an “iconic” show, Parth recalled how his family reacted with disbelief when he first announced his new role. “Initially, they thought I was joking. But when they realized it was true, they filled with immense pride,” he shared. He also expressed his initial reluctance to step into such a significant role given the show’s cultural importance.
“I never imagined I would be a part of something of this magnitude,” he reflected. “This is a unique opportunity for me, and I feel honored to join such a legendary franchise.”
Who is Parth Samthaan?
For those not yet acquainted with Parth Samthaan, he was born Parth Laghate on March 11, 1991. His rise to fame began with his role as Manik Malhotra in MTV’s Kaisi Yeh Yaariaan, debuting in 2014 and quickly becoming a cult favorite among younger viewers. The show was notable for its dynamic cast, including Niti Taylor.
Parth’s foray into acting started with roles in episodic series like Savdhaan India, Webbed, Yeh Hai Aashiqui, and Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya. He later participated in youth-oriented series like Gumrah: End of Innocence and Best Friends Forever?
In 2016, he showcased his musical talent with the single “Jind Meri Royi Royi.” He solidified his television career by portraying Anurag Basu alongside Erica Fernandes in Kasautii Zindagii Kay 2, a modern reboot of the classic series.
Parth has also ventured into film, featuring in Bollywood projects like Hamare Baarah and Ghudchadi, released in 2023. Aside from his acting and singing pursuits, he has cultivated a substantial social media presence, boasting nearly 3.9 million followers on Instagram.
