BroadwayWorld is offering an exclusive sneak peek at the upcoming pre-Broadway engagement of the world premiere musical, Regency Girls, which is set to showcase its brilliance at The Old Globe. This exciting new comedy, filled with wit and audacity, features a narrative penned by the Emmy-winning duo Jennifer Crittenden and Gabrielle Allan, known for their work on hits like “Seinfeld” and “Veep.” The musical score is crafted by Curtis Moore, a three-time Emmy nominee recognized for his contributions to “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel,” while the lyrics come from Amanda Green, a two-time Tony and Grammy nominee celebrated for her work on productions like Mr. Saturday Night and Bring It On: The Musical.
Directed and choreographed by Josh Rhodes, who has previously worked on Broadway’s Spamalot and The Old Globe’s Cabaret, Regency Girls tells a thrilling story of romance and self-determination. The production is co-produced by Aged in Wood Productions and HudsonMann, with performances scheduled to run until May 4, 2025, culminating in an official opening night on April 10. Rhodes leads a talented cast of 20 performers, including Isabelle McCalla as Elinor, whose credits include Broadway’s Water for Elephants. Additionally, the ensemble features Krystina Alabado as Dabney and Kate Rockwell as Jane, both from Mean Girls, along with Ryann Redmond as Petunia from Frozen. The cast further includes Nik Walker as Stanton, Gabe Gibbs as Dingley / Galloping Dick, and Janine LaManna as Lady Catherine / Madame Restell.
