Premiere of *Regency Girls* at The Old Globe: A Bold New Musical

Experience the excitement of *Regency Girls*, a fresh musical comedy now making its debut in a pre-Broadway engagement at The Old Globe. This innovative production, with a witty book penned by Emmy winners Jennifer Crittenden and Gabrielle Allan, features music from the talented Curtis Moore, a three-time Emmy nominee, and lyrics by Amanda Green, a two-time Tony and Grammy nominee.

Directed and choreographed by Josh Rhodes, known for his work in Broadway’s *Spamalot* and *Cabaret*, this spirited tale revolves around themes of love, rebellion, autonomy, and self-discovery. *Regency Girls* is produced in collaboration with Aged in Wood Productions and HudsonMann, with performances scheduled to continue until May 4, 2025. The highly anticipated opening night is set for April 10, and shows will be held on the Donald and Darlene Shiley Stage within the Conrad Prebys Theatre Center. Tickets can be purchased at TheOldGlobe.org.

The narrative centers on Elinor Benton, a young woman grappling with an unexpected pregnancy in 19th-century England, facing the harsh realities of being unmarried in her society. In a bid to avoid scandal and reshape her destiny, she embarks on a transformative road trip with her closest friends, aiming to seek assistance from a woman who might help alter her course. This journey not only provides comedic moments but also offers profound insights into friendship and self-determination.

Rhodes leads a lively cast of 20 performers, including Isabelle McCalla as Elinor, Krystina Alabado as Dabney, and Kate Rockwell as Jane, both of whom have Broadway ties from *Mean Girls*. Ryann Redmond, known from *Frozen*, plays Petunia, while Nik Walker, recognized for his roles in *Hamilton* and *Crime and Punishment*, portrays Stanton. The ensemble is filled with talent, featuring Gabe Gibbs, Janine LaManna, Sav Souza, and other accomplished artists who contribute to the rich tapestry of this musical experience.

Each cast member brings unique flair and expertise, enhancing the depth and enjoyment of *Regency Girls*. As the characters navigate their respective paths, audiences can expect an exhilarating blend of humor and emotional resonance that reflects the complexities of love and personal growth.
