IShowSpeed Claims Professional Athletes Are Afraid to Race Him
IShowSpeed, the celebrated YouTube streamer, recently stirred the pot by asserting that professional athletes are hesitant to race against him. This bold claim follows a high-profile race against Olympic sprinter Noah Lyles, where Speed finished a close second in a 50-yard dash.
Not only does IShowSpeed dominate the streaming scene, but he is also showcasing notable athletic ability. In 2024 alone, he has demonstrated his physical prowess through various daring stunts, including jumping over moving supercars, attempting to break the world record for backflips, and sparring with a renowned boxer while visiting the Philippines.
On November 6, prominent YouTuber MrBeast teamed up with Noah Lyles to challenge IShowSpeed to a $100,000 footrace. While Speed accepted the challenge enthusiastically, the outcome did not unfold as he had hoped, leading to frustration after narrowly losing the contest.
In a stream dated November 11, IShowSpeed expressed a conviction that professional athletes are now wary of competing against him. “Now, everybody is scared to race me,” he claimed, adding that he is challenging athletes across various sports.
Speed went on to imply that even Lyles might not want to race him again, suggesting that the Olympian recognizes the potential for a loss. “If Noah would have raced me again, he knows he would have lost,” Speed claimed, further asserting that many athletes are avoiding challenges against him.
While it remains unclear if Speed has had any further racing challenges since his encounter with Lyles, he has yet to engage in a proposed footrace against Jake Paul. Back in September, the YouTuber-turned-boxer challenged Speed to a race with a $25,000 prize for the winner. Plans for Speed to fly to Puerto Rico for this race have not materialized, likely due to his ongoing training for an upcoming boxing match.
