During the Super Bowl LIX Flag Football Game on February 8, content creator IShowSpeed proposed a thrilling race against Sha’Carri Richardson, a renowned track and field athlete and Olympic champion.
Richardson is celebrated for her speed, having secured multiple gold medals throughout her career, including a standout performance at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
While participating in a live stream on IShowSpeed’s YouTube channel at the Super Bowl event, Richardson encountered a challenge when Speed dared her to compete in a race right then and there.
“Let’s race right now then,” Speed exclaimed, to which Richardson responded, “I don’t race for free,” setting a playful tone for their exchange.
Feeling the urgency of the challenge, Speed expressed his frustration with the hesitance of challengers. Richardson, however, laid down the terms, suggesting that Speed complete an Olympian-level workout before their showdown.
“Tell him to come workout first, do an Olympian track workout, and then we gonna have a race. But you gotta do an Olympian track workout,” she clarified. Speed reciprocated her enthusiasm, declaring, “Race coming soon, imma come to Texas.”
IShowSpeed’s Previous Athletic Encounters
Despite being primarily known as a streamer, IShowSpeed has demonstrated notable athletic prowess in various contexts. In 2024, he showcased his skills while streaming with NFL standout Caleb Williams, impressively completing a 40-Yard Dash with a timing of 4.44 seconds.
Perhaps his most remarkable athletic challenge was the race against fellow Olympic champion Noah Lyles in November 2024, where Speed narrowly missed victory.
Public opinion regarding the upcoming race between Speed and Richardson is divided. Some social media users believe Speed has the upper hand, suggesting that Richardson may not be willing to race him.

Conversely, supporters of Richardson argue against the notion that Speed could win, confidently asserting her superiority in track performance. Comments on social platforms reflect these differing viewpoints, with one user emphatically stating, “Everyone saying Richardson would lose are dumb.”
Adding to the excitement of his athletic endeavors, Speed also made an appearance in the 2025 Royal Rumble match earlier this month, further showcasing his move into various sports entertainment realms, though he faced challenges during that event as well.
