She noted that often, filmmakers seek actresses who have participated in high-profile films, claiming it enhances their marketability. “It’s part of the industry dynamics, and I accept that,” she stated, reiterating the shared disappointment felt by the entire cast and crew when a film does not succeed.
Bhavani Shankar asserted that even if she anticipated Indian 2 would underperform, she would still have chosen to take on the role, highlighting the rarity of an actress rejecting a project of this magnitude with established directors and actors. Shankar pointed out that if individual stars were the sole determinants of a film’s success, then all of their films would be guaranteed hits—an assertion that does not reflect reality.
