J-Hope’s “Mona Lisa” Dominates Weekly Music Poll
This week, J-Hope’s latest single “Mona Lisa” has emerged as the clear favorite in the new music poll conducted by Billboard.
In a poll published on March 21, music enthusiasts voted extensively, with J-Hope garnering an impressive nearly 90% of the votes, eclipsing a range of other notable new releases. Competing tracks included Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco’s I Said I Love You First, Jack Harlow and Doja Cat’s “Just Us,” the Jonas Brothers’ “Love Me to Heaven,” and Morgan Wallen’s tracks “I’m a Little Crazy” and “Just in Case,” among others.
Released on the same day, “Mona Lisa” is characterized as a love song that highlights the extraordinary nature of one’s beauty. According to statements from J-Hope’s label, BIG HIT, the song delves into an admiration for an individual whose beauty stands out.
This new track follows J-Hope’s recent collaboration with Miguel on the digital single “Sweet Dreams,” which made a debut at No. 66 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for the week ending March 22.
“Mona Lisa” also represents J-Hope’s first new release since his March 2024 EP, Hope on the Street Vol. 1. This six-track project features collaborations with prominent artists such as his BTS bandmate Jung Kook on “I Wonder,” along with Benny Blanco and Nile Rodgers on “Lock/Unlock,” and Huh Yunjin of Le Sserafim on “I Don’t Know.”
Coming in second place in the poll was Gomez and Blanco’s I Said I Love You First, which received nearly 9% of the total votes. This couple’s album features previously released hits such as “Scared of Loving You,” “Sunset Blvd,” “Younger and Hotter Than Me,” and “Call Me When You Break Up,” featuring Gracie Abrams.
