Jaat Dominates the Box Office as Sunny Deol’s Thrilling Venture
Box Office Performance: Day 14 Insights
Sunny Deol’s latest action thriller, Jaat, continues to perform impressively at the box office. On its 14th day, the film earned approximately Rs 1.09 crore, solidifying its status as the second-highest-grossing film in Deol’s career, just behind the monumental success of Gadar 2 released in 2023. Jaat faces competition from Akshay Kumar’s Kesari Chapter 2, drawing attention from audiences and box office analysts alike.
Data from Sacnik indicates that Jaat’s earnings on Day 14 have significantly outperformed those of another film, Sikandar, which garnered only Rs 40 lakh on the same day. Overall, Jaat’s nett domestic collection now totals Rs 79.2 crore, surpassing the lifetime earnings of Gadar (2000), which stood at around Rs 77 crore. Sikandar, in contrast, accumulated roughly Rs 110 crore in its run.
Although Jaat’s earnings on Day 13 were slightly lower than those of Kesari Chapter 2, audience turnout for both films remained comparable. On April 22, Kesari Chapter 2 took the lead with Rs 3.16 crore in collections.
On Tuesday, Jaat’s overall occupancy rate was recorded at 12.73%, while Kesari Chapter 2 enjoyed a gradual increase with 16.93% occupancy, aided by an attractively priced ticket promotion starting at Rs 99. Despite this competition, Jaat maintains a strong presence in major markets, particularly in Delhi NCR, Mumbai, and Ahmedabad, where it commands a significant number of screenings.
On Day 12, Jaat’s nett collection reached Rs 76.25 crore in India. The film’s gross collection domestically was reported at Rs 90 crore, with worldwide earnings climbing to an impressive Rs 102.25 crore.
Jaat, a gripping action thriller, is the directorial debut of Gopichand Malineni in Bollywood. The film is produced by Mythri Movie Makers and People Media Factory, featuring a star-studded cast that includes Sunny Deol, Randeep Hooda, Saiyami Kher, Regina Cassandra, and Jagapathi Babu, among others. Their performances contribute to the film’s dynamic and engaging narrative.
