Jaat Vs Kesari 2 Box Office Collections: Despite starting with less than Rs 10 crores on its opening day in the domestic market, the action thriller has continued to hold strong.
Sunny Deol’s latest film, Jaat, made its theatrical debut on April 10. The action-packed thriller has experienced a commendable performance at the box office. Opening with a figure below Rs 10 crores on its first day, the film has managed to sustain its momentum and attract audiences.
As of Saturday, April 19, 2025, which marks the film’s tenth day in theaters, Jaat has drawn an estimated Rs 3.75 crore net in India, pushing its cumulative earnings to Rs 69.40 crore. The film has recorded an average Hindi occupancy rate of 15.77%, broken down into 6.34% for morning screenings, 14.72% for afternoon slots, and increasing to 17.80% for evening shows.
Directed by Gopichand Malineni, Jaat is contending with stiff competition from Bollywood heavyweights like Salman Khan’s Sikandar, which premiered on March 30, as well as Kesari: Chapter 2, which was released on April 18.
The film’s initial week at the box office saw an average performance, with notable spikes during the weekend. Its most significant day was its first Sunday, when it accrued Rs 14 crore net, marking the highest single-day earnings for Jaat thus far. The film has resonated particularly well in regions such as Delhi, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Central India.
Besides Deol, the film’s ensemble cast includes Randeep Hooda, Saiyami Kher, Regina Cassandra, Jagapathi Babu, Ramya Krishnan, Vineet Kumar Singh, Prashant Bajaj, Zarina Wahab, P. Ravi Shankar, and Babloo Prithiveeraj, adding depth and appeal to the narrative.
The storyline centers on Brigadier Baldev Pratap Singh, portrayed by Sunny Deol, who is referred to as Jaat. He finds himself in conflict with Ranatunga, played by Randeep Hooda, the former Deputy Commander of the Jaffna Tiger Force, after a sudden arrival in a village near Chirala. As Jaat becomes acquainted with the local community, he witnesses the pervasive fear and adversity affecting its residents, prompting him to take a stand against the oppressive forces at play.
This sets the stage for a gripping battle between the principled brigadier and the tyrannical warlord, ensuring a dramatic and engaging cinematic experience for audiences.
