Jacob Elordi Takes on Iconic Role in Wuthering Heights Adaptation

Jacob Elordi’s plans to step away from acting were abruptly transformed when Emerald Fennell, director of “Saltburn,” approached him for a significant role in her adaptation of the classic novel “Wuthering Heights.” Elordi revealed that Fennell reached out with a simple text, an invitation he felt he couldn’t decline.

In an interview with IndieWire, Elordi expressed his gratitude, stating, “I was really lucky. I was going to take a break for a while, and then Emerald just very simply texted me, and you can’t run from that text.” This underscores the impact of Fennell’s request on his career trajectory.

Elordi also shared his enthusiasm for working alongside Margot Robbie in the film, emphasizing her talent. “She’s incredible in the film, she’s a live wire. I’m so, so excited for people to see it. She’s a beautiful actor and she gave so, so much,” he remarked, hinting at a dynamic performance that audiences can expect.

The Australian actor is currently immersed in filming the eagerly anticipated third season of HBO’s “Euphoria” and had previously collaborated with Fennell on the 2023 project “Saltburn.”

Additionally, Elordi recently completed work on Guillermo del Toro’s reinterpretation of “Frankenstein,” scheduled for release this November. In this film, he takes on the role of the notorious creature, who comes to life from a collection of corpses assembled by Dr. Frankenstein, brought to life by Oscar Isaac. Reflecting on his fascination with monster films, Elordi noted that del Toro gifted him a baby development book at the start of their shoot, which adds an intriguing layer to his preparation for the role. The cast includes notable talents such as Christoph Waltz, Mia Goth, and Ralph Ineson.

His latest venture, the Australian World War II series “The Narrow Road to the Deep North,” made its debut on Prime Video recently. This series is adapted from the award-winning novel by Richard Flanagan, further showcasing Elordi’s versatility as an actor.

Looking ahead, Fennell’s adaptation of “Wuthering Heights” is set to be released in theaters across the United States by Warner Bros. Pictures on February 13, 2026, promising to bring a fresh perspective to the timeless love story.
