The Broadway tour of & Juliet, scheduled for tonight at the Hobby Center in Houston, has been canceled due to inclement weather stemming from Winter Storm Enzo. The severe snowfall in the region has hindered preparations necessary for the show, prompting organizers to prioritize the safety and well-being of both the audience and the cast.

In a statement released by the Hobby Center on behalf of the production, they informed ticket holders about the cancellation: “Tonight’s performance, Wednesday, January 22 at 7:30 PM of & Juliet has been canceled due to local weather conditions impacting our ability to prepare the show for audiences tonight.”

Patrons who purchased tickets directly from authorized sellers do not need to take any action, as refunds will be automatically processed to their original payment method. Those who sold or transferred their tickets should inform their buyers about the cancellation. Refund processing is expected to take between 5 to 7 days.

For any further inquiries regarding & Juliet, patrons are encouraged to contact their original point of purchase. Additionally, tickets are still available for a newly added performance set for this Friday, January 24 at 1:00 PM.

Winter Storm Enzo has significantly impacted Houston, marking one of the most substantial snowfalls in decades. Accumulations of over six inches have been reported in parts of the area, with local airports experiencing disruptions; Hobby Airport alone recorded three inches, contributing to its status as the third-largest snowfall in the city’s history.

The National Weather Service noted that the snowfall was widespread across the region, with Beaumont accumulating six inches and Baytown receiving approximately 5.5 inches. The greater Houston area saw between two to four inches of snow, with the event being one of the most notable since 1973.

Despite some melting due to sunlight today, the city continues to face challenges relating to transportation and daily operations due to the lingering effects of the storm.

The touring cast of & Juliet features a talented lineup, including Rachel Simone Webb in the titular role, alongside Paul-Jordan Jansen as ‘Lance,’ Teal Wicks as ‘Anne Hathaway,’ Corey Mach as ‘Shakespeare,’ Nick Drake as ‘May,’ Kathryn Allison as ‘Angélique,’ Michael Canu as ‘Romeo,’ and Mateus Leite Cardoso as ‘François.’

The ensemble cast also includes Naima Alakham, Camille Brooks, Nella Cole, Lois Ellise, Ishmael Gonzalez, Kenneth Onesimus Goubran, Shelby Griswold, Christopher Robert Hanford, Jourdan Ibe, Josh Jordan, Nicole Lamb, Yoshi Maysonet, Usman Ali Mughal, Jaydon Nget, Kyra Smith, and Francisco Thurston.

& Juliet features a vibrant score by renowned Grammy-winning songwriter Max Martin, with a book authored by Emmy-winning writer David West Read, who is known for his work on “Schitt’s Creek.” Directed by Luke Sheppard and choreographed by Emmy-Award winner Jennifer Weber, the musical debuted on Broadway in November 2022.
