Jason Kelce Reflects on the Super Bowl and Brotherhood

Jason Kelce found himself in a unique situation during the 2025 Super Bowl, as the Philadelphia Eagles faced off against the Kansas City Chiefs, the team of his brother Travis Kelce. When the game took place in New Orleans on February 9, the retired NFL star opted to support both teams. He donned a neutral outfit while sharing on X that processing his emotions after the Eagles’ victory in Super Bowl LIX has been a challenge.

In his post, Kelce expressed his respect for his brother’s achievements, noting, “I feel for him and am always rooting for him, but I know he does not need, nor want my pity. He has amassed greatness few on this planet could ever dream of, as has his team, and they should feel pride in their accomplishments this season and in the past.”

Following the kick-off of the NFL and YouTube Super Bowl Flag Football Game on February 8, Jason spoke to Bustle about his role as an older brother. He emphasized his preference for being supportive rather than giving unsolicited advice. He explained, “I try not to be too much of an advice person and more like a support person [for Travis]. If he asks me for stuff or my opinion on whatnot, I’ll be there for him. I’ve never tried to tell him what to do or how to do things. I firmly believe you’ve got to go and learn that stuff for yourself and figure that out.”

In addition to their individual careers, the Kelce brothers co-host the podcast New Heights, which they release weekly. Jason expressed gratitude for this project, saying, “The best part of the podcast is just getting to talk to Trav. Before we started the podcast, we would go months sometimes without talking to each other. The podcast forces us once a week to sit down and talk to each other.”

The podcast has fostered a closer relationship between Jason and Travis, despite their busy lives and the distances that separate them. “We both have a lot going on in our lives, and it’s been fun — after all these years being in different cities and fighting to make it in the football landscape — to rekindle the amount of times that we talk and the closeness that we have growing up our entire lives,” Jason shared.
