Jeff Sperbeck, who has been a steadfast business associate of John Elway, is currently in critical condition and on life support due to a serious incident on a golf course over the weekend, as reported by TMZ Sports.
During a gathering at The Madison Club in La Quinta, CA, on Saturday afternoon, Sperbeck was riding in a golf cart when an unfortunate accident occurred. He fell off the cart and struck his head on the ground, leading to immediate concern from his wife and at least one other bystander, who rushed to check on him.
Responders were called, and Sperbeck was swiftly transported to Desert Regional Medical Center. Unfortunately, his medical outlook remains grim.
While Sperbeck has not been declared clinically dead, medical professionals have informed his family that recovery is unlikely. He is currently being maintained on life support as arrangements are made for possible organ donation.
Though not widely recognized outside of sports circles, Sperbeck played a crucial role in the career of Elway, widely regarded as one of the best quarterbacks in football history.
The partnership between John and Jeff dates back to the early ’90s, when Sperbeck took on the roles of sports agent and business manager for Elway, a collaboration that spanned over three decades.
Even after Elway’s retirement from football in 1998, their bond remained strong. In 2013, the two expanded their relationship by establishing a winery, 7Cellars.
In addition to his work with Elway, Sperbeck represented over 100 players in the National Football League throughout his career, solidifying his influence in the sports domain.
