Jennie of Blackpink has achieved another milestone in her solo career with her latest single, “Like Jennie,” marking her third entry on the Pop Airplay chart and surpassing fellow member Rosé in the rankings.
Continuously establishing her presence in the American pop music scene, Jennie’s new track finds a spot in the competitive Billboard radio landscape, a significant feat that also supports the ongoing promotion of her solo album, Ruby.
“Like Jennie” Debuts on the Pop Airplay Chart
Entering the Pop Airplay chart at No. 40, “Like Jennie” finds its place as the final entry. This debut, while modest, is a considerable achievement for any K-pop artist, as the chart reflects the most-played songs on top 40 stations across the United States, where competition remains fierce.
Jennie Claims a Third Solo Hit on the Pop Radio Chart
With the release of “Like Jennie,” Jennie marks her third entry on the Pop Airplay chart. This places her among a distinguished group of K-pop artists, especially notable for solo female performers, where only a handful have achieved more than one chart appearance, and even fewer have reached three.
Jennie Moves Past Rosé to Stand Alone
Prior to this week, Jennie was tied with her bandmate Rosé, both holding two spots on the Pop Airplay chart. However, with her latest achievement, Jennie has stepped ahead, claiming sole possession of second place among solo female K-pop acts in terms of radio rankings.
Blackpink’s Lisa Remains in the Lead
While Jennie has surpassed Rosé, she is still behind another Blackpink member, Lisa, who currently leads with four Pop Airplay hits. Lisa’s recent success in adding her fourth hit keeps her at the forefront for the time being.
Jennie Passes Blackpink
Interestingly, Jennie’s solo achievements are now beginning to outshine some of the successful entries she has with Blackpink. With three appearances on the Pop Airplay chart, Jennie has now surpassed her own group’s total of two entries since their debut.
Blackpink’s first entry came in 2020 with “Ice Cream,” a collaboration with Selena Gomez that represented a significant breakthrough. The group expanded its chart history in 2022 with “Pink Venom,” which allowed them to double their total entries.
Jennie’s Quick Successes on Pop Radio
Jennie’s rise in American pop radio has been swift. She made her initial appearance on the Pop Airplay chart in February 2024 with the collaborative track “One of the Girls,” alongside The Weeknd and Lily-Rose Depp. This hit reached No. 18 and remained on the chart for 15 weeks.
Following that success, she released “Mantra” in late 2024, which spent 10 weeks on the charts. Now, with “Like Jennie,” Jennie continues this trend, and if promotional strategies align, the song could remain in the spotlight for an extended period.
