Jeopardy! fans are expressing strong dissatisfaction after missing the latest episode due to a preemption by the 2025 NFL Draft’s second and third rounds on April 25. The event aired on ABC affiliates at 7/6c that evening.
A user on X voiced their frustration, stating, “What? NFL Draft preempts Jeopardy!? WTF?”
Another echoed the sentiment, “Noooo, no Jeopardy! ’cause of sportsball! You screwed me for the last time, sports! We must abolish the NFL.”
One more fan expressed disbelief, saying, “Outrageous they have the NFL Draft on instead of Jeopardy!—who actually watches past the first pick?”
Another added, “No Jeopardy! tonight; worthless NFL Draft instead.”
@ABCNetwork You’re kidding–right?!? Putting @Jeopardy in a late-night slot for this sports-niche NFL Draft? It’s not even the Super Bowl! Furthermore, Jeopardy! isn’t listed in the channel guide as promised—WTF?!?

Another user remarked, “I don’t see the appeal—nobody needs to watch the NFL Draft! Why endure hours for [NFL commissioner] Roger Goodell to announce a name?”
A frustrated fan declared, “Jeopardy! being preempted for the NFL Draft is simply unacceptable.”
Despite the situation, at least one creative individual managed to find a bootleg video of the missed episode on YouTube.
Additionally, some fans have created a Google Docs spreadsheet listing rescheduled airings, indicating that the episode will air today or even tomorrow in certain areas.
Hopefully, advancements in streaming will provide easier access to new episodes, mitigating the disappointment caused by preemptions like Friday’s. Earlier this year, The New York Times revealed that Sony Pictures Entertainment is exploring options for next-day streaming rights for fresh episodes of both Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune.
“Our goal is to ensure these shows remain relevant now and for the next 40 years,” emphasized Ravi Ahuja, the new chief executive of Sony Pictures Entertainment. “In a media landscape where everyone is seeking valuable intellectual property, it was evident to me that Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy! are prime assets. Their vast viewership and passionate following signal immense potential for growth.”
