Joe Rogan Responds to Kamala Harris Campaign’s Claims
Podcast host Joe Rogan has pushed back against assertions made by Kamala Harris’s campaign, which suggested that he deliberately sabotaged interview negotiations in favor of then-candidate Donald Trump. Rogan characterized the allegations as an attempt by the campaign to deflect blame.
In the recently published book “Fight: Inside the Wildest Battle for the White House,” authors Jonathan Allen and Amie Parnes recount the challenges the Harris campaign faced in securing an interview on “The Joe Rogan Experience” prior to the 2024 election.
The book mentions that the Harris campaign contended Rogan’s team set up stringent conditions for the interview, including a refusal to meet on October 25, which they labeled as Rogan’s “personal day.” The campaign later expressed frustration upon learning that Rogan conducted an interview with Trump on the very same day.

During a recent episode of his podcast, Rogan firmly rejected the campaign’s narrative, asserting that the issue lay in Harris’s lack of commitment to appear on his show. “We have all the receipts,” he stated, emphasizing that there was never a definitive agreement for her participation. He dismissed the suggestion that he had intentionally prioritized Trump over Harris as “incorrect” and “not true.”
Rogan also took issue with the characterization of him as “difficult to deal with,” particularly regarding his request to conduct the interview in his Austin, Texas studio. He noted the campaign’s own unconventional demands, suggesting that they were not as easy to work with as claimed.
“We were super easy,” Rogan remarked. “But also, it’s got to be the actual real show. It shouldn’t be some fake version where I’m sitting in a conference room.” He highlighted that the campaign wanted additional personnel present, including a stenographer, which contrasted sharply with his straightforward three-hour sit-down with Trump, where it was just him, Trump, and his producer, Jamie.

Rogan speculated whether the Harris campaign’s reluctance might have been influenced by the virality of his interview with Trump in the weeks leading up to the election, suggesting that their concerns about the potential impact of a successful interview with Harris might have been a factor.
“I think it’s someone trying to cover their a– for the fact that she never did it, and if she did do it, it might have had a positive effect,” Rogan posited. He further noted that a positive interaction between himself and Harris could have helped her appeal to younger voters.
Rogan’s endorsement of Trump shortly before the election has added another layer to the ongoing discussion regarding media, political strategies, and the engagements between political figures and influential platforms.
