In a significant personal transformation, John Summit is reshaping his lifestyle, moving away from a reputation defined by wild partying. On March 10, he took to social media to share news of his “first fully sober tour,” marking a new chapter in his career and life.

Expressing pride in his progress, Summit stated, “Not here to brag, I’m just extremely proud of myself that I can perform at my best with full confidence without relying on alcohol. It’s taken a long road to get here.” He added a note to his followers, saying, “it ain’t much but it’s a start.”

Support flooded in from peers in the industry. Notably, producer Illenium, who also embraces sobriety, commented, “bro f–k ya good for you,” while Sophie Hawley-Weld from Sofi Tukker praised the accomplishment, calling it “the best feeling ever.”

Summit, who is currently featured on the cover of Billboard, shared insights into his dedication to health and wellness. His journey emphasizes a commitment to exercise and adequate rest—habits that reflect a significant shift from his earlier days, characterized by social media posts showcasing his nightlife antics. During a recent interview, he took Billboard on a run in Miami, explaining that physical activity plays a crucial role in managing his hectic lifestyle.

“Fitness is what grounds me, because I live a crazy life,” Summit noted. “I never know what time zone I’m in, don’t even know what city I’m in half the time. There’s no more grounding activity than running, because it makes you focus on the moment, focus on your breathing— it’s my form of almost yoga and meditation.”

Looking ahead, Summit’s tour will kick off at the Ultra Music Festival in Miami. He has an exciting April itinerary in Australia and notable headline appearances at major festivals including Movement and Lightning In a Bottle. Before all this, he is set to headline Billboard THE STAGE at SXSW on Saturday, March 15, at the Moody Amphitheater in Austin, Texas.
