The Ponniyin Selvan star is teaming up with director Ganesh K Babu, known for Dada, for this upcoming project.
In the midst of personal challenges following his separation from Aarti, actor Jayam Ravi excitedly announced his latest film, currently titled JR 34. This project will see him collaborating with director Ganesh K Babu, recognized for his previous work on the film Dada. The director took to social media to unveil the film’s announcement poster, expressing his enthusiasm with the caption, “Excited to share the announcement poster of my next film as the director of #JR34.” According to the poster, production for JR 34 is set to commence shortly, featuring a musical score by the talented Harris Jayaraj.
Shortly after the poster’s release, Jayam Ravi also shared it on his X account, further amplifying anticipation for the film.
The striking design of the poster suggests that Ravi may be portraying a multi-faceted character. The imagery features what appears to be a torn page, indicating the potential for a narrative that explores duality within the protagonist. Fans have responded positively, with comments expressing eagerness for the film. One user remarked, “After DADA, waiting for your new genre. Poster gives that feeling of something curious! All the best na,” while another noted the excitement surrounding the inclusion of a Harris Jayaraj score, stating, “On seeing a Harris Jayaraj Musical in the poster, wow, what a feel.”
Reports indicate that the film will be produced by Screen Space Media Entertainment PVT LTD, a company that has collaborated with Jayam Ravi on two prior occasions. Sources suggest that JR 34 is set to be a grand production, though further details regarding the cast and crew are anticipated to be shared by Screen Scene Media shortly.
Beyond JR 34, Jayam Ravi is actively preparing for the upcoming release of his film Brother, directed by M Rajesh, who is known for works such as Siva Manasula Sakthi and Oru Kal Oru Kannadi, and co-starring Priyanka Mohan. He is also engaged in a project titled Genie, helmed by Arjunan Jr, who previously assisted director Mysskin. This film will feature a diverse cast, including Krithi Shetty, Kalyani Priyadarshan, and Wamiqa Gabbi. Additionally, Ravi is set to star in Kadhalikka Neramillai, directed by Kiruthiga Udhayanidhi, alongside actress Nithya Menen.
This announcement comes at a turbulent time for the actor, as he navigates a divorce from his wife, Aarti. Recent reports have surfaced indicating that the actor accused Aarti and her mother of mistreatment during their marriage, revealing that he had refrained from using WhatsApp for six years due to concerns over her constant monitoring of his messages.
Jayam Ravi publicly disclosed their separation on September 9 via an extensive post on social media, conveying that the decision, while challenging, followed considerable deliberation. In response, Aarti expressed her grievances, claiming that the divorce announcement was made without her prior knowledge or consent.
