Katy Perry recently reached out to her devoted fan base, the KatyCats, to reassure them about her well-being amidst online negativity. In a heartfelt message posted on a fan page, she reflected on her experiences with digital criticism and expressed gratitude to those who have supported her throughout her journey.
“I am immensely thankful for you all. We are on this remarkable journey together,” Perry shared in an Instagram comment. “I am able to stay true to myself, open-hearted and honest, largely due to our connection.”
Perry elaborated on her emotional resilience: “Please understand that I am okay. I have engaged in substantial self-reflection to grasp my identity and my core values. A pivotal piece of advice I received from my therapist years ago was, ‘No one can make you believe anything about yourself that you don’t already believe.’ Any discomfort I feel prompts me to delve deeper into my feelings.”
“I’m so grateful for you guys. We’re in this beautiful and wild journey together. I can continue to remain true to myself, heart open and honest especially because of our bond.
I love you guys and have grown up together with you and am so excited to see you all over the world… pic.twitter.com/y9l17qaKXA

This message of gratitude was a response to a global fan initiative that celebrated the commencement of her tour with a temporary billboard in Times Square. The billboard conveyed a supportive message: “Know that you are safe, seen and celebrated,” a likely reference to the backlash she has recently received related to her Blue Origin space mission and the criticisms of her ongoing Lifetimes Tour.
“When the online world tries to make me a target, I approach it with grace and send love, as I recognize that many individuals are grappling with their own pain. The internet often serves as a venting space for unresolved issues,” Perry remarked. “What truly matters is the experience of seeing your faces at every performance, singing together, reading your heartfelt messages, and feeling your warmth.”
Throughout her Lifetimes Tour, Perry has made it a point to invite fans on stage to join her for surprise performances, cherishing those personal connections. In her message, she emphasized the significance of this shared experience.

“I focus on connecting with individuals during performances, as I believe we heal each other, even in small ways. I acknowledge my imperfections and have actually removed the word ‘perfect’ from my vocabulary,” Perry noted. “I’m navigating this human experience while sharing the stage with many. Although I may stumble, I always rise again, continuing to embrace life and, despite my struggles, I strive to seek out the light.”
As she prepares to conclude the Mexico segment of her Lifetimes Tour, Perry is set to begin the U.S. leg next week, with her first show in Houston on May 7. During a recent concert in Mexico City, she was visibly emotional, shedding tears as she sang the heartfelt track “Pearl” from her album Teenage Dream.
