“Blessed to have visited the sacred Shakti peethas of Kolhapur Mahalakshmi and Kamakhya,” they mentioned.
Actress Jyotika recently engaged in a profound spiritual experience alongside her husband, celebrated actor Suriya. The couple made a pilgrimage to two prominent Shakti Peethas in India: the Kamakhya Temple located in Assam and the Mahalakshmi Temple in Kolhapur. Undertaken at the start of the new year and just before the theatrical release of their forthcoming film “Retro,” this journey held significant personal meaning for them. Jyotika took to social media to share her reflections on the trip, expressing her gratitude for the blessings they received and her eagerness for their new film premiering on May 1. The accompanying photographs showcased the serene and spiritual atmosphere they enjoyed throughout their visit.
For their temple visit, Jyotika and Suriya opted for traditional attire. One striking image features Jyotika tying a sacred cloth to a temple bell, while another captures her lighting a diya, with Suriya by her side. Additional images depict Jyotika in prayer and posing near the time-honored temple structures, underscoring the couple’s connection to their cultural heritage.
In her Instagram post, Jyotika articulated her feelings, stating, “Blessed to have visited the sacred Shakti peethas of Kolhapur Mahalakshmi and Kamakhya during the auspicious new year. Starting my next film… I thank you for your love and blessings always.”
Prior to their spiritual expedition, Suriya attended the trailer launch for “Retro” in Chennai, where he took a moment to express heartfelt appreciation for Jyotika. Referring to her as his “kannadi poo” (a term of endearment in Tamil meaning delicate flower), he moved the audience with his affectionate words. He noted, “There’ll be many layers in the film with love, laughter, and war. I’m here because of you all… and thanks to my Kannadi Poo, Jo, my journey wouldn’t be a happier one without her.”
#RETRO – There’ll be many layers in the film with love – laughter – war. I’m here because of you all. I’m here because of your love. And thanks to my “Kannadi Poo” Jo. My journey wouldn’t be a happier one without her.
Directed by Kartik Subbaraj, “Retro” features a talented ensemble cast including Pooja Hegde, Joju George, Jayaram, Prakash Raj, and Nassar, promising a diverse range of storytelling elements.
