Kai Cenat’s Mafiathon 2: Streaming to New Heights
Kai Cenat has firmly established himself as a leading figure in the Twitch community, recently achieving an impressive peak of 306,621 active subscribers. In his latest initiative, Mafiathon 2, he aims to surpass this record.
Even though he recently lost his number one ranking in October 2024, Cenat continues to hold the title of Twitch’s second-most-subscribed streamer. His streams regularly attract thousands of live viewers, with notable spikes during major events, such as his recent Elden Ring marathon.
With the first 24 hours of Mafiathon 2 wrapped up, there were several key moments worth highlighting, along with developments and milestones that have set the stage for this exciting new venture.
Duration of Mafiathon 2
Cenat’s primary objective for this subathon is to reclaim his title as the most-subscribed Twitch streamer by surpassing the record set by Ironmouse. However, his path has not been without challenges.
Kai Cenat is live on Twitch again. Just after reaching a milestone of 130,000 subscribers, he experienced a distressing incident when police swarmed his home in what turned out to be a false report, commonly referred to as swatting. Fortunately, he emerged from the situation unharmed and returned to the streaming platform shortly afterward.
Swatting Incident Challenges
During his livestream, Cenat encountered a swatting event, with helicopters visible around his residence as law enforcement arrived to investigate the report. This incident quickly attracted public attention.
On just the second day of the stream, viewers noted the specific location where he was broadcasting. Following this, his Twitch account was temporarily banned; however, he was reinstated approximately ten minutes later.
Upon his return to Twitch, Cenat celebrated crossing the 140,000 subscriber mark, indicative of his viewers’ continued support. Despite the quick ban, the unfortunate outcome involved losing the video-on-demand (VoD) from the initial day of the stream, a setback he is now working to recover.

Special Appearances and Collaborations
At the end of Day 1, Cenat brought on TikTok sensation Miles Morales NPC to help with subscriber shout-outs while he took a break. In a playful twist, the two engaged in a humorous NPC-themed exchange.
Celebrity Cameos: Miranda Cosgrove Joins the Fun
Day One of Mafiathon 2 featured a memorable guest appearance by actress Miranda Cosgrove, who participated in a segment named “KaiCarly.” This segment cleverly parodied beloved late ’90s and early 2000s Disney Channel shows, complete with its own unique opening sequence.
Giving Back: Streaming for a Cause
In a charitable initiative, Cenat announced that 20% of all proceeds from the Mafiathon would be donated to a cause focused on constructing a school in Makoko, a neighborhood in Lagos, Nigeria. This decision underscores the platform’s community-oriented spirit.
“We will be personally covering the entire cost of this project, including staff salaries, classroom materials, and uniforms,” Cenat explained. “Starting tomorrow, 20% of the revenue generated in November will contribute to this effort.”
