Kai Cenat’s Twitch Account Compromised by Hacker
Popular streamer Kai Cenat has fallen victim to a hacking incident that compromised his Twitch account, mirroring a previous breach of his TikTok profile.
The rise in hacking incidents involving social media influencers highlights a troubling trend, where hackers frequently target these figures to either embarrass them or promote fraudulent schemes, particularly those related to cryptocurrencies.
On April 3, a hacker took control of Cenat’s account, expressing their discontent over what they claimed was the removal of their Discord server. The hacker publicly stated, “Got my discord suspended Mr. Cenat, this is what you get,” while altering the overall appearance of Cenat’s Twitch channel.
The modifications included changing Cenat’s profile image and channel banner to feature the hacker’s branding. Notably, instead of Cenat’s typical profile picture, it now displayed the name “SAVA.” Additionally, the new channel header included links to the hacker’s own pages and even listed Cenat’s personal phone number.
Immediately following the breach, speculation arose that Cenat’s channel had been suspended. However, recent attempts to access the channel revealed it was still live, albeit stripped of its previous content.
While the channel itself was accessible, it lacked any of Cenat’s past videos, clips, or social media connections, which may have been deleted by the hacker or affected amidst the alleged suspension.
This is not Cenat’s first run-in with the hacker; a similar breach occurred at the end of February during a stream marathon, where his TikTok account was also compromised. Fortunately, that account was restored within hours.
As for his Twitch account, it is expected that the platform’s team will work diligently to restore it to its former state before reactivating it for Cenat’s use.
Currently, Cenat has not made a public statement regarding the hacking incident, but updates will be provided should he choose to address the situation.
