Bollywood Actor Deb Mukherjee Passes Away at 83
Renowned Bollywood actor Deb Mukherjee, father of prominent filmmaker Ayan Mukerji, has died at the age of 83. His passing occurred on March 14, following a period of health challenges attributed to aging.
The news of Deb Mukherjee’s death was confirmed by his spokesperson through a statement to media outlet Zoom, highlighting the actor’s recent struggles with various age-related ailments.
The final rites for Mukherjee are scheduled for 4 PM on the same day at Pawan Hans Crematorium located in Juhu, Mumbai. A number of Bollywood luminaries, including Kajol, Ajay Devgn, Rani Mukerji, and others, are expected to pay their respects. Notably, Kajol was one of the first to arrive at Ayan Mukerji’s residence, with footage shared by paparazzo Viral Bhayani showing her hastily entering the home.
Deb Mukherjee’s career spanned several decades, during which he appeared in notable films such as Aansoo Ban Gaye Phool, Abhinetri, Do Aankhen, and Kaminey. His impactful roles have left a lasting impression on the Indian cinematic landscape, earning him a respected place in the industry.
In the meantime, Ayan Mukerji continues to make significant contributions to cinema. Currently, he is involved in the production of War 2, featuring Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR. Following this, he will transition into pre-production for Brahmastra 2, a much-anticipated sequel that Ranbir Kapoor recently confirmed is underway, with major updates to be announced in the near future.
