Kangana Ranaut Addresses Death Threats Ahead of “Emergency” Release
Kangana Ranaut has recently faced serious threats following the unveiling of the trailer for her upcoming film, “Emergency,” where she portrays former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. As anticipation grows for the film’s release, concerns regarding Kangana’s safety have escalated, coinciding with calls from various groups to boycott the film. In a candid interview, Kangana addressed these threats and affirmed her commitment to ensuring the film’s release proceeds as planned.
In her remarks during the show “Aap Ki Adalat,” Kangana asserted her resolve, stating, “You cannot intimidate me. I will not allow the voice of this nation to be silenced. We must uphold our constitutional rights. Every artist deserves the freedom to express themselves. No one should stifle the truth.” She emphasized that intimidation tactics would not deter her from her mission.
Continuing her message, she warned, “If I back down, these groups will eventually prevent any artist from rising. They will silence anyone through fear and rewrite history as they please. This has happened before, and we have been taught a skewed version of our history. We cannot let that happen again.” Kangana highlighted the importance of taking a stand for the nation and its legacy.
Recently, Kangana has also expressed her frustrations regarding the film’s certification process with the Censor Board, suggesting that the death threats have complicated matters. She shared a video on social media detailing how there have been demands to alter scenes connected to Indira Gandhi’s assassination and figures like Bhindranwale from “Emergency.” Describing the situation as “unbelievable,” she conveyed her discontent with the current state of affairs in the country concerning artistic expression.
