Kantara: Chapter 1 Set for Release on October 2, 2025, Amid Rumors of Delays
Kantara: Chapter 1 is officially scheduled to premiere on October 2, 2025, providing reassurance to fans concerned about potential delays.
Fans of the Kantara franchise can finally relax! The production team has firmly put to rest any speculation surrounding postponements, announcing that Kantara: Chapter 1 is confirmed for its much-anticipated release later this year.
Responding to viral social media discussions about a delay, Hombale Films released a clear statement: “No doubts. No delays The legendary saga, #KantaraChapter1 unfolds on October 2nd, 2025.”
The excitement surrounding this release is palpable:
Rishab Shetty, renowned for his work on the blockbuster from 2022, is deeply involved in this prequel. The film boasts an impressive war sequence meticulously designed by both domestic and international experts, featuring over 500 trained fighters and an extensive cast of approximately 3,000 individuals. This battle is anticipated to be one of the grandest spectacles in Indian cinema.
According to reports from ANI, “Hombale Films is investing heavily in Kantara: Chapter 1, assembling over 500 skilled fighters to create an unprecedented war scene. With specialized action choreography at the helm, it promises to be an extraordinary cinematic experience.”
Shetty has committed substantial time and effort to prepare for this project, undergoing rigorous training in horse riding, Kalari martial arts, and sword fighting. The film’s production is taking place on a sprawling 25-acre set nestled in the Karnataka mountains, with a shooting schedule extending up to 50 days.
Kantara: Chapter 1 takes viewers back to the Kadamba period in Karnataka, an era recognized for its rich cultural and architectural contributions. The Kadambas were pivotal rulers whose reign is often celebrated as a Golden Period in Indian history.
In addition to starring as the lead character, Rishab Shetty also directs the film. It was in 2023 that Shetty revealed to audiences that what they had seen was in fact Part 2 of the story, with the upcoming release acting as a prequel.
“We are incredibly grateful for the audience’s overwhelming support for Kantara. Thank you for embarking on this journey with us. With the blessing of the divine Daiva, we celebrate the film’s successful 100-day run and are thrilled to announce the prequel of Kantara. What you’ve seen is actually Part 2; Part 1 will be released next year,” he stated.
