Kanye West and Kim Kardashian Clash Over Diddy Song Featuring North West

Kanye West recently unveiled a new track titled “Lonely Roads Still Go to Sunshine” via X, proclaiming it as a work by Sean “Diddy” Combs that includes contributions from North West, his daughter with Kim Kardashian. This release followed a reported disagreement over the song’s distribution between West and Kardashian.

The track features Christian “King” Combs, Diddy’s son, and Jasmine Williams, an artist associated with Yeezy. The song begins with Diddy, credited as Puff Daddy, expressing gratitude for the care extended towards his children, remarking, “Ain’t nobody reached out, ain’t nobody called.”

In a heartfelt moment, West responds, “I love you so much, man. It’s like, you raised me. Even when I didn’t know you, know what I’m saying?” North also makes her presence known, rapping on the track with the line, “When you see me shining, then you see the light.”

Before the song’s release, West shared now-deleted screenshots of text messages purportedly exchanged with Kardashian, in which she mentioned having sent legal documentation to ensure she was not included in the song to “protect her.” Kardashian indicated that one parent needed to hold the trademark for their children’s name, a condition they reportedly agreed upon when their children were born to prevent others from claiming such rights. This trademark issue is expected to revert to North West when she becomes 18, as Kardashian outlined in her messages. The details of this exchange were reported by TMZ.

Kanye’s response to Kardashian’s messages was assertive, stating, “Amend it or I’m going to war And neither of us will recover from the public fallout.” He ominously concluded, “You’re going to have to kill me.”

A representative for Kardashian did not provide a comment to Rolling Stone when asked.
