Kanye West’s Frustration Following Recent Musical Collaborations

Kim Kardashian has recently shared a post from Playboi Carti that sparked a significant reaction from her ex-husband, Kanye West. This interaction coincides with the release of a song featuring their daughter, North West, alongside Sean Diddy Combs’ son, Christian King Combs, and artist Jasmine Williams.

The tension began when Kim reposted an Instagram Story from Playboi Carti, which included lyrics related to her and references to her SKIMS brand from his track, “FINE S–T.” Carti’s request for collaboration included a call out to North: “Kim Kardashian, Tell me, niece North, send me a song.” This prompted Kanye to express his discontent publicly.

On March 18, Kanye took to X to convey his feelings, seemingly channeling Carti’s perspective by stating, “Hey North, your dad gave me my biggest song and co-sign, and I left him off of my album because of his tweets. Oh, but North, you’re my niece, I gotta use your vocals.”

Kanye continued to voice his frustration with a follow-up post hours later, remarking, “I held my tongue about MOT being on Carti’s album. Him going to my ex to ask my daughter to be on a song two days later was too far. Nobody finna play with me.”

Kanye’s ire is notable considering he just released “Lonely Roads Still Go To Sunshine,” a track featuring North, Christian King Combs, and Jasmine Williams on March 15. This song reportedly had its own share of background tensions leading up to its launch.

Before the song’s release, Kanye alleged that Kim was attempting to block it. In a post that has since been deleted, he shared what seemed to be a text exchange in which Kim conveyed her intent to ensure North wasn’t included in Diddy’s song to “protect her,” according to reports.

In another part of the exchange, Kim referred to her legal efforts to safeguard their children’s names, saying, “I asked you at the time if I could trademark her name. You said yes. When she’s 18 it goes to her. So stop,” indicating her stance on the matter.

Kanye, expressing his continued resistance, allegedly replied, “Amend it or I’m going to war. And neither of us will recover from the public fallout. You’re going to have to kill me.”

Reports from TMZ suggested that Kim took further legal steps by sending cease and desist letters to Kanye and convening an emergency hearing with a mediator. While Kanye reportedly did not attend this meeting, he was said to have agreed to withdraw the song, although that clearly didn’t materialize.

Kanye and Kim, who were married in 2014 and officially divorced in 2022, share four children: North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm. Their public disputes over parenting and artistic collaborations continue to unfold in the media spotlight.
