Kanye West Comments on Wife’s Stunning Red Carpet Outfit at the Grammys
Kanye West has recently shared his thoughts on the eye-catching, nearly nude dress worn by his wife, Bianca Censori, during the Grammys red carpet event. The couple generated significant buzz online and in the media with their bold fashion choice, which drew attention even before the awards ceremony commenced.
In a post on X, West expressed his admiration for Censori, stating, “My wife’s first red carpet opened a whole new world. I keep staring at this photo like I was staring in admiration that night thinking wow I am so lucky to have a wife that is so smart talented brave and hot. She took a break from shooting her first film to make a movie in real life. We tailored that invisible dress six times. And just like magic poof we disappeared. Thank you to all the outlets who recognized us and gave us back the energy we put in.”
West also addressed criticisms about the outfit, responding to questions about how his mother would feel, saying, “You don’t know my mama bitch.” Accompanying his comments were several images showcasing the daring transparency of the ensemble.
There was speculation around the couple’s absence from the actual Grammy ceremony, with some suggesting they had been denied entry. However, it was later clarified that they were only intended to walk the red carpet and did not have plans to attend the show itself. Raj Kapoor, the executive producer of the Grammys, explained that the awards show’s dress code is viewed as “artistic black-tie,” which can often be subject to personal interpretation. He confirmed that neither West nor Censori had invitations for the main event.
Kapoor further elaborated, “If they were invited guests because we would know everybody who’s seated at the VIP tables that we have in front. We know each person who’s coming because every table is numbered. Our director must know where those artists are for award categories. They didn’t have a nomination on the show, and Kanye wasn’t presenting or performing, which is mostly what those seats are for.”
This year’s Grammys red carpet was not the first time West and Censori attracted controversy for their public displays. In 2023, the couple faced backlash after being banned by a Venetian boat company due to compromising photos that emerged of them on a water taxi. A spokesperson for Venezia Turismo Motascafi remarked that West and Censori “will certainly no longer be welcome on board our company’s boats,” denouncing their behavior.
West and Censori were first publicly spotted together in January 2023 at the Waldorf Astoria. Shortly thereafter, reports emerged from TMZ indicating that the two had participated in a non-legally binding wedding ceremony, mere months following West’s divorce from Kim Kardashian.
In recent years, West has faced a range of legal challenges, including lawsuits from former employees. Notably, his former personal assistant, Lauren Pisciotta, accused him of firing her following allegations of sexual harassment. Additionally, West was sued in November over accusations of choking a model during the filming of a La Roux music video at a hotel in Manhattan in 2010.
