Elvish Yadav, Kushal Tandon, and Others Criticize Bigg Boss 18 Winner Karan Veer Mehra After Pahalgam Terror Attack

Karan Veer Mehra, the winner of Bigg Boss 18, has responded to the backlash following a poetry video he shared in the wake of the Pahalgam terror attack that occurred on April 22. The video featured him reciting a poem by actor Ashutosh Rana, which subsequently led to criticism from notable figures such as Elvish Yadav and Kushal Tandon.

In light of the negative feedback, Karan Veer took to social media to explain the intent behind his poem. He emphasized his condemnation of the terror attack, referencing a statement from actor Suniel Shetty about planning future holidays in Kashmir.

In his social media post, Karan Veer highlighted the poem’s deeper message, stating, “An eye for an eye will NOT leave the whole world blind, the last person will still have one eye, and we all know who that last person might be. But the real question is, would YOU rather break the chain of hate and make the world a better place? That’s exactly what my poem meant.”

Karan Veer expressed his condolences to the families affected by the Pahalgam incident, asserting, “My heart goes out to the families of those who lost their loved ones in the Pahalgam attack. May the perpetrators face the strongest punishment they deserve. We are not scared. We are not afraid.” He concluded with a quote from Suniel Shetty: “Agli chutti Kashmir mein.”

Karan Veer Mehra’s Post After Pahalgam Terror Attack

The content of Karan Veer’s recitation included a piece reflecting on communal harmony, a theme central to the poem originally penned by Ashutosh Rana. He began his recitation with the lines, “Baat diya iss dharti ko, Kya chand-sitaaron ka hoga? Nadiyon ko kuch naam diye, behti dharon ka kya hoga?”

The poem critiques how divisions along religious lines have affected the nation. Karan Veer continued with powerful verses addressing unity in diversity: “Shiv ki ganga bhi paani hai, aabe zam zam bhi paani hai. Pandit bhi piye Mulla bhi piye, toh paani ka mazhab kya hoga? Ek hai suraj chand hai ek, ek hawa mein saas hai sabki. Toh pucho inn firqa parasto se, kya hawa bhi nahi chalaoge? Naslo ka karein jo batwara, rahbhar woh comb ka dhongi hai. Sawaal toh bas ek hi hai, kya allah ne mandir toda tha ya Ram ne masjid toda tha? Baat diya iss dharti ko. Koi Hindu hai, koi Musalman, koi Sikh toh koi Issai. Bas humne insaan na hone ki hai kasam khayi.
