Kartik Aaryan Expresses Admiration for “My Melbourne,” Highlights Kabir Khan’s Short Film “Setara”
Bollywood sensation Kartik Aaryan recently shared his enthusiasm for the anthology film “My Melbourne,” singling out the segment “Setara,” directed by Kabir Khan, as a standout piece. Aaryan expressed his appreciation, stating, “The film was incredibly uplifting and focuses on themes of inclusivity and diversity. It truly lives up to the expectations.” He further added, “I genuinely loved Kabir sir’s movie, Setara; it’s my favorite. The performances are exceptional, and I wish the entire team all the success.”
“Setara” tells the poignant story of a 15-year-old girl from Afghanistan who escapes the Taliban, finding comfort and community in the sport of cricket as she adapts to her new life in Melbourne.
The anthology also features “Jules” by Imtiaz Ali and Arif Ali, which explores heartwarming cross-cultural friendships and the quest for personal identity. Rima Das’s “Emma” presents a narrative centered on self-discovery and belonging amidst a multicultural backdrop. In addition, Onir contributes “Nandini,” offering an intimate look into the complexities of relationships and aspirations when living in a foreign nation.
Set to release in Indian theaters on March 14, “My Melbourne” promises to engage audiences with its diverse storytelling.
In other significant updates, Kartik Aaryan recently earned the IIFA Best Actor award for his role in the popular horror-comedy series ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’. His acceptance speech captured the hearts of many as he reflected on his journey through the franchise, sharing the obstacles and victories that have come to define his career.
While addressing the audience, Kartik remarked on his role in ‘Chandu Champion,’ asserting, “Right now, I cannot find the words. I am not just Chandu; I am the champion. Though this award is not for that film, the sentiment remains the same.”
The actor recalled the skepticism surrounding his casting in ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2,’ recounting, “People questioned if I could shoulder the film. As we approached the release of ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3,’ uncertainty still lingered about our success on opening day.”
Kartik attributed much of his success to director Anees Bazmee, who helped shape his iconic character, Rooh Baba. He expressed gratitude by stating, “A heartfelt thank you to Anees Bazmee sir for crafting such a memorable character that has left a lasting impact across generations.”
