Kate Middleton Shows Support for Team Great Britain
Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales, expressed her admiration for Team Great Britain during the recent Summer Olympics, albeit through a virtual appearance rather than an in-person visit. This week, she and her husband, Prince William, took to social media to celebrate the athletes’ achievements from the comfort of their home.
In a video posted on the official Instagram account of the Prince and Princess of Wales, Middleton, dressed in a stylish blue-and-white striped shirt, delivered heartfelt congratulations to Team GB. She stated, “From all of us watching at home, congratulations to Team GB,” while her hair cascaded gracefully over one shoulder.
Prince William joined her in this celebration, sporting a new beard and a blue Olympics polo shirt. He added, “Well done on all you’ve achieved. You’ve been an inspiration to us all.” The couple’s message resonated beyond their royal circles, with various celebrities, including Snoop Dogg and David Beckham, joining in to commend the athletes.
In their social media post, they expressed, “Well done @teamgb, what an incredible journey! Every athlete showed immense dedication, heart and passion. You made us all so proud! Here’s to celebrating every triumph at @paris2024 and looking forward to more from @paralympicsgb_official later in the summer .”
Previously, Middleton made a public appearance at Wimbledon in July, where she was seen alongside her sister, Pippa Middleton, and daughter, Princess Charlotte, during the men’s singles final. The crowd warmly welcomed her with a standing ovation, and she later presented trophies as patron of the All England Club Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club.
Following her Wimbledon engagement, reports indicated that Middleton would be taking a break from public appearances. According to royal sources, she and Prince William are currently spending time at their Norfolk residence, opting for a low-profile summer as she continues her preventative chemotherapy. Although they are not expected to travel abroad, the family plans to join King Charles and Queen Camilla at Balmoral in Scotland in August.
