Pop icon Katy Perry is on the verge of a monumental journey into space, a dream she has held for the past 15 years. In an enthusiastic post on Instagram, she shared her anticipation for the experience that is set to unfold today.
“Tomorrow that dream becomes a reality,” Perry expressed, noting the launch time for the “Taking Up Space Crew” is scheduled for 7 AM Central Time. She emphasized her honor to be part of an extraordinary all-female flight crew, which marks a significant milestone in aerospace history.
In a revealing behind-the-scenes video, Perry provided a glimpse of the spacecraft and her designated seat, proudly marked with her name. She even took a moment to showcase her passion for music, stating, “I gotta sing in space.”
While she acknowledged her instinct to be in disbelief about this momentous occasion, Perry emphasized the power of belief in achieving one’s dreams. “Believing your dreams and saying that is actually how you make your dreams come true,” she remarked, highlighting her personal journey.
As one of the select passengers on Blue Origin’s New Shepard spacecraft, founded by Jeff Bezos, Perry is joined by an impressive group of women, including broadcast journalist Gayle King, activist Amanda Nguyen, filmmaker Kerianne Flynn, entertainment reporter Lauren Sánchez, and aerospace engineer Aisha Bowe, a former NASA employee. This mission will mark the New Shepard’s 31st flight and 11th manned suborbital trip.
