Chelsea is currently engaged in negotiations with Barcelona concerning a potential transfer for England international Keira Walsh. If a financial agreement is reached between the two clubs, Walsh is expected to travel to London for a medical examination later today.

With her contract set to expire this summer, Walsh is eager to return to the Women’s Super League, where she previously made a significant impact. Barcelona acquired her from Manchester City in 2022 for a world record transfer fee. Since her arrival in Spain, Walsh has celebrated consecutive league and UEFA titles.

Walsh played a pivotal role in England’s triumph at the UEFA Women’s Euro 2022, contributing to the team’s emotional 2-1 extra-time victory over Germany in the final. She has been an integral part of the national team since making her debut in 2017, accumulating 80 caps to date.

Chloe Kelly’s Emotional Plea Ahead of WSL Transfer Deadline

In a heartfelt announcement, Manchester City forward Chloe Kelly expressed her desire to leave the club before the Women’s Super League (WSL) transfer window closes at 11 PM today. The England striker has been limited to just one start in the league this season, and she reported that this lack of playing time has taken a toll on her mental health. Kelly stated that the current situation is “not right” and that she simply wants “to be happy again.”

According to Sky Sports News, Manchester City is willing to let Kelly depart before the transfer window concludes, with a suitable offer already presented for her consideration. Reports suggest that Manchester United is among the clubs interested in a loan agreement for the 27-year-old, whose contract with City runs out in June.

Kelly was celebrated as a hero for England during Euro 2022, where she scored the decisive goal in the final against Germany at Wembley, leading the Lionesses to their historic first major title. However, with her recent lack of playing time, she is keen to enhance her chances of being selected for Sarina Wiegman’s squad for Euro 2025, where England will aim to defend their title in Switzerland.
