Keke Palmer Reflects on Wearing Vintage Chanel Dress Once Worn by Jamie Lee Curtis

Keke Palmer recently revealed that she had no prior knowledge of the vintage Chanel gown she donned at the SAG Awards having previously graced the figure of her former “Scream Queens” co-star, Jamie Lee Curtis.

“I literally found out after it came up online,” Palmer explained during a conversation at the Vanity Fair and Instagram’s Vanities party at Bar Marmont in West Hollywood. “I had no idea. I just loved the dress. I just thought it was stunning.”

The striking black and gold gown was originally worn by Curtis at the inaugural American Cinematheque Award Gala in 1986, an event honoring Eddie Murphy.

Palmer expressed her admiration for Curtis, saying, “All I knew was that it was a dress I had to wear. The fact that Jamie wore it too is incredible because that’s my girl. We did ‘Scream Queens’ together. When my son was born, she sent me all these books.”

Following the SAG Awards, Curtis reached out with a heartfelt message. “She sent me a text message saying, ‘Oh my, gosh, I love you, how beautiful you look, so amazing,’” Palmer recounted. “She’s always so encouraging, and then she made that really sweet post, which I lived for.”

Curtis celebrated Palmer’s look on Instagram alongside a photo collage. “As much as I would love to say it was mine, it was borrowed from my friend @debopp [filmmaker Deborah Oppenheimer] and I’m thrilled to be anywhere near @keke in style and grace and talent!” Curtis wrote, expressing her admiration.

Palmer also shared her desire to wear other iconic outfits, mentioning celebrities like Rihanna, Demi Moore, and Gwyneth Paltrow. When asked about Jennifer Lopez’s famous green Versace dress from the 2000 Grammys, she stated, “Anything J.Lo. Insane. That Versace look is iconic. I don’t even know if I could touch that.”

Looking ahead, Palmer discussed her upcoming project with Eddie Murphy in the heist comedy “The Pickup,” produced by Amazon MGM Studios, and reflected on a special moment she shared with fellow actress Coco Jones at the event.

Stay tuned for more insights from Palmer regarding her experiences in the industry.
