This patriotic action film, which features R Madhavan and Ananya Panday, dramatizes the legal struggle against the British Empire following the tragic Jallianwala Bagh massacre. The movie premiered on April 18, 2025.
Following a robust opening weekend, *Kesari 2* has maintained a steady box office trajectory into its second week. On Sunday alone, the film grossed Rs 8.15 crore and followed up with Rs 3 crore the following Monday, reflecting a typical decline for weekdays. This trajectory positions Akshay Kumar’s latest film to potentially become his second-highest-grossing Indian release of 2025, trailing only behind *Sky Force*, which introduced newcomer Veer Pahariya.
According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the film’s domestic net revenue currently sits at Rs 68.5 crore. Production house Dharma Productions has officially noted that *Kesari 2* has surpassed the Rs 100-crore mark globally, marking it as the fourth film to achieve such success this year, alongside *Chhaava*, *Sikandar*, and *Jaat*.
With favorable audience reception, *Kesari 2* is anticipated to eclipse the lifetime earnings of Salman Khan’s *Sikandar* in the coming days. On the last Monday, the Hindi version recorded an average occupancy rate of 11.19 percent, beginning with a modest 5.84 percent in the morning but gaining traction as the day progressed, peaking at 17.25 percent during evening and nighttime screenings.
Serving as a spiritual extension of Akshay Kumar’s earlier blockbuster *Kesari*, this installment features him as lawyer C Sankaran Nair, navigating the turbulent landscape of British rule in the aftermath of the Jallianwala Bagh incident. R Madhavan portrays his courtroom adversary, Neville McKinley, while Ananya Panday embodies the role of Dilreet Gill.
