Khloé Kardashian Celebrates Family Ties and Co-Parenting Dynamics
Khloé Kardashian is keen on ensuring her children forge a connection with Tristan Thompson’s brother, Amari. In a recent episode of The Kardashians, the co-founder of Good American attended Amari’s 18th birthday celebration. Amari lives with Lennox-Gastaut syndrome, a complex and severe form of epilepsy.
Kardashian shared in a confessional that her children, True, 6, and Tatum, 2, are “much more exposed” to Amari than their other cousins, leading True to feel “more concerned than frightened” about him. She emphasized the importance of children being acquainted with various individuals, noting, “I do think it’s important for our kids and everyone’s kids to be exposed to all different types of people.”
Despite her past relationship with Thompson, Kardashian has managed to establish a positive co-parenting relationship. Speaking on the SHE MD podcast, she described their dynamic: “He’s the nicest guy and we get along so well now. We’re not meant to be together, but he was meant to be the father of these kids.” This sentiment reflects her commitment to creating a harmonious environment for their children.
In an earlier discussion with her mother, Kris Jenner, on The Kardashians, Kardashian spoke about her relationship with Thompson, stating, “Tristan and I, we always get along great. Him and I have a great friendship relationship, we get along fine, and for my kids, I will put anything to the side.” She recognizes the past but chooses to focus on the present, noting, “What’s done is done, so what would I still be holding on to something for?”
However, she also emphasized the need for boundaries, stating, “There’s still boundaries, I’m definitely putting my foot down around a lot of things. No one’s just here chilling if there’s no kids involved.” This indicates her awareness of maintaining a healthy balance in their co-parenting arrangement.
Kardashian has been reflective about her role as a mother, discussing the scrutiny she faces for spending ample time with her children. She explained, “For some reason, I keep getting dissected and scrutinized for being ‘too mommy.'” Yet, she firmly believes that motherhood is her calling, asserting, “there’s no other place I would rather be than here with my kids.” She anticipates that as her children grow, their social circles will begin to expand, and she cherishes the moments they spend together now.
Looking ahead, she stated, “In 15 years, my kids are never going to be like, ‘I really wish you worked more. I really remember that time that you were at work late.’ They’re going to be like, ‘Why the f— weren’t you there?’” This illustrates her commitment to prioritizing family over work whenever possible.
New episodes of The Kardashians become available on Hulu every Thursday at 12 a.m. ET.
