Actress Kim Delaney Arrested on Felony Assault Charges
Kim Delaney, known for her role in “NYPD Blue,” has been arrested on felony assault charges, as confirmed by Fox News Digital. Delaney was taken into custody at the Marina del Rey Sheriff’s Station at approximately 10:15 a.m. on Saturday, facing allegations of assault that could result in serious bodily injury.
The actress was officially booked at the station around 11:30 a.m. and is currently still in custody, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department (LASD).
Details of the Incident
On March 29, both Delaney and her partner, James Morgan, were reportedly arrested following a domestic dispute at their residence. According to the LASD, Morgan also faces charges of domestic violence. Following his arrest, he secured his release by posting a $20,000 bond later that day. Both individuals are scheduled to appear in court on April 1.
As reported by TMZ, the incident escalated into physical altercations during what started as a heated argument. Emergency responders were called to the scene to assess potential injuries.
Delaney’s Past and Career
Kim Delaney has a storied career, featuring in numerous popular television series, including “The O.C,” “Army Wives,” “All My Children,” and “Chicago Fire,” in addition to her long-running role in “NYPD Blue” from 1995 to 2003. However, Delaney’s personal life has also been marked by challenges, including a previous drunk driving arrest in 2002, after which she sought treatment for alcoholism.
Two weeks prior to her recent arrest, Delaney shared a heartwarming photo on Instagram with Morgan, captioning it, “Pure love.” The couple recently celebrated their second wedding anniversary, and Delaney expressed her affection for Morgan in a post noting their special day.
Legal Troubles
This latest incident is not the first legal trouble for the actress. In 2002, she was arrested in Malibu for driving under the influence, resulting in a two-year probationary period. The following year, Delaney voluntarily entered rehabilitation in efforts to combat her struggles with alcohol.
Representatives for Delaney have not publicly commented on the most recent circumstances surrounding her arrest. The situation sheds light on the ongoing challenges she faces both personally and professionally.
