King Charles III was admitted to the hospital briefly on Thursday due to “temporary side effects” from a scheduled cancer treatment, according to a statement from Buckingham Palace. The monarch, who is 76 years old, is receiving care for an undisclosed type of cancer and has been undergoing treatment for over a year.
As a result of this hospital visit, his scheduled engagements for Thursday afternoon and Friday have been canceled. The palace confirmed, “His Majesty has now returned to Clarence House and as a precautionary measure, acting on medical advice, tomorrow’s diary programme will also be rescheduled.”
In a gesture of consideration, the King expressed his apologies to those who might be inconvenienced or disappointed by the changes to his plans.
Despite facing health challenges, King Charles has managed to maintain his royal responsibilities, although he has taken some time away from public duties. His commitment to serving the nation remains evident as he continues to navigate his treatment while fulfilling state obligations.
