Insights into Kourtney Kardashian’s Edits on The Kardashians
Khloé Kardashian has recently disclosed details about the editing choices made by her sister Kourtney Kardashian Barker in the family’s reality show, The Kardashians. Both Khloé and Kourtney, along with their mother Kris Jenner and other sisters, serve as executive producers, allowing them significant control over the show’s content.
During an appearance on the Call Her Daddy podcast, Khloé, 40, provided an interesting perspective on what gets omitted from the final edits. She remarked, “Yes, but it’s more vanity things that we would cut,” highlighting the focus on minor details rather than major storylines.
Khloé noted that Kourtney, the eldest sister at 45, is particularly selective regarding her edits. She mentioned, “It’s more because she’ll say, ‘I say ‘like’ too many times, so remove this word.’ It’s not really about the storyline.” This playful jab underscores Kourtney’s concern with precise language rather than alterations to the overarching narrative of their lives as portrayed on camera.
Khloé added humorously, “She still says ‘like’ 500 times,” resonating with viewers who may relate to the common speech tendencies everyone has.
The family, which began its television journey in 2007 with Keeping Up With the Kardashians, transitioned to Hulu’s The Kardashians in 2022. Throughout this evolution, Khloé has remained committed to authentic storytelling, even as she navigates her own complicated personal life, which includes marriage, divorce, and public controversies.
She expressed her desire to approach filming with honesty, saying, “I don’t want to overthink or else I think it really changes how the show is perceived.” Khloé believes it’s her duty to showcase her life as it unfolds, especially when moments become public, stating that she hopes her openness can resonate with viewers who might be facing similar challenges.
“I can’t be the only one going through certain things. And if it makes somebody else feel seen or if it helps somebody get through something… I really hope that I make someone feel more seen and safe,” she said, emphasizing the potential impact of sharing one’s story on television.
Interestingly, individual family members have taken different approaches to what they reveal on screen. Rob Kardashian has distanced himself from prominent appearances, opting for minimal involvement, while Kendall, 29, and Kylie, 27, generally avoid discussing their personal relationships. Kourtney has openly expressed her frustration regarding how the show sometimes emphasizes her ex-partner Scott Disick’s feelings about her engagement to Travis Barker.
This dynamic has sparked discussions among the sisters about the level of transparency expected from each other. During a reunion special for Keeping Up With the Kardashians, Khloé addressed the tension, articulating that she and Kim often share a lot more than Kourtney, which can create feelings of imbalance within the family.
