Bella Swan is officially a bride. On April 20, actress Kristen Stewart exchanged vows with screenwriter Dylan Meyer after a relationship spanning nearly six years, which included a four-year engagement.
As reported by TMZ, the couple celebrated their union in a private ceremony at their home in Los Angeles after obtaining their marriage license earlier that week. The intimate gathering included close family and friends, among them Ashley Benson and her spouse, Brandon Davis.
Kristen and Dylan’s Journey Together
Kristen Stewart first crossed paths with Dylan Meyer on a film set in 2013, but it wasn’t until 2019 that their connection deepened. Within just weeks of rekindling their romance, Stewart revealed to Howard Stern that they declared their love for each other. They made their relationship “Instagram official” in October 2019.
During the same interview, Stewart expressed her eagerness to propose, noting she intended to wait a “reasonable” amount of time. Interestingly, it was Meyer who took the initiative, leading to Stewart sporting her engagement ring for several months before officially announcing their engagement in 2021. She later shared with Jimmy Fallon that Meyer had done an exceptional job with the proposal.
The couple made their initial public appearances during the awards season of 2022, including the Oscars, where Stewart was nominated for her portrayal of Princess Diana in the film Spencer. This pivotal moment in her career temporarily shifted their focus away from wedding plans.
“I’m trying to win an Oscar now,” Stewart jested while appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live. “I’ve done a little bit of dreaming, but I haven’t planned anything. I’m a food-obsessed person, so maybe that is, like, the most important part.”
Ultimately, Stewart returned to her wedding plans that she had initially hinted at during a previous interview with Stern in 2021, despite the four-year wait. She expressed a desire for a simple affair, wanting to celebrate in Los Angeles surrounded by loved ones. “I want it to be pretty chill,” she noted. “We’re just going to, like, stand and do vows and f*cking party after. It’s kind of just a great excuse to get together and say ‘I love you’ in front of all your friends.”
