KTM and Tech3 Unveil 2025 MotoGP Liveries in Malaysia
KTM and its satellite squad, Tech3, unveiled their 2025 motorcycle liveries during an event held in Malaysia on Thursday. The launch showcased the continued evolution of both teams as they prepare for the upcoming racing season.
The primary KTM Racing team has maintained its signature orange and dark blue color scheme, prominently displaying the logos of title sponsor Red Bull. This consistent branding highlights the team’s identity, which fans have come to recognize over the years.
In a significant shift, Tech3 has decided to adopt the same livery as the factory team for the 2025 season, transitioning from their all-red designs used in 2023-2024 that promoted the GasGas brand. This change reflects a growing synergy between the two teams, with KTM viewing Tech3 increasingly as an integral part of its factory operations.
Rider Line-Up Changes for 2025
This year sees both teams undergoing updates to their rider line-ups. Notably, rookie standout Pedro Acosta has been promoted to the factory KTM Racing team to join experienced racer Brad Binder. Meanwhile, Tech3 has successfully recruited accomplished riders Maverick Viñales and Enea Bastianini from their previous affiliations with Aprilia and Ducati, respectively.
As part of these adjustments, Jack Miller and Augusto Fernandez, who were part of the Tech3 lineup under the GasGas branding, have been released from KTM’s roster, marking a significant shift in strategy as the team seeks to enhance its competitive edge.
KTM’s Commitment Amid Financial Challenges
KTM remains steadfast in its commitment to MotoGP for 2025, even as it navigates challenges related to unsold stock and mounting debts that have led the company to enter self-administration. The future of the Austrian manufacturer will be determined on February 25, when creditors vote on an insolvency plan that could shape the organization’s trajectory moving forward.
Since its debut in MotoGP in 2017, KTM has established itself as a key player in the championship, although it has yet to clinch a world title. The team showed considerable competitiveness in 2024, finishing second in the manufacturers’ standings—trailing behind Ducati but comfortably ahead of Aprilia. Its last race victory came in 2022, when Miguel Oliveira triumphed at the Thailand Grand Prix.
As the teams gear up for the upcoming season, the excitement among fans and industry stakeholders alike continues to build, with expectations riding high for both KTM and Tech3 in 2025.
