KTM and Tech3 Unveil New Liveries for 2025 MotoGP Season
KTM and its satellite team, Tech3, have introduced their new bike liveries for the 2025 MotoGP season during a joint event held in Malaysia on Thursday. The unveiling underscores a renewed focus on collaboration between the two teams as they gear up for another competitive year in the championship.
The factory KTM Racing team continues with its distinctive orange and dark blue color palette, prominently featuring the logos of its title sponsor, Red Bull. This design has become iconic within the MotoGP landscape, representing the team’s identity and competitive spirit.
In a significant shift, Tech3 will adopt the same livery as the factory team after a period where they showcased all-red bikes to promote the GasGas brand during the 2023-24 seasons. This alignment not only emphasizes a unified aesthetic but also reflects a deeper integration between the two entities, with KTM viewing Tech3 as an extension of its operations.
The teams have also undergone notable changes in their rider line-ups. Rookie sensation Pedro Acosta has been promoted to the factory KTM team, joining experienced racer Brad Binder. Meanwhile, Tech3 has secured the talents of race winners Maverick Viñales and Enea Bastianini, both of whom make the shift from the Aprilia and Ducati teams, respectively. This fresh lineup is expected to bring new energy and competitiveness to both squads.
Conversely, Jack Miller and Augusto Fernandez, who were part of the GasGas-branded Tech3 team last year, have been released from KTM’s roster, highlighting a new strategic direction for the manufacturer.
KTM remains resolute in its commitment to competing in MotoGP in 2025, despite navigating challenges related to unsold inventories and increasing debts that led the company to enter self-administration. The company’s future will hinge on a critical vote by creditors scheduled for February 25, when they will vote on an insolvency plan that could shape the brand’s trajectory going forward.
Since its inaugural entry into MotoGP in 2017, KTM has established itself as a significant player in the sport, though it has yet to capture a championship title. In the 2024 season, KTM finished second in the manufacturers’ standings, maintaining a comfortable lead over third-placed Aprilia, but trailing the dominant force of Ducati. The last race victory for the team came in 2022, when Miguel Oliveira triumphed at the Thailand Grand Prix. The upcoming season presents an opportunity for both KTM and Tech3 to build on their successes and strive for greater achievements.
